Rajeev Ram is the Back-to-Back Nitto Finals Champion – Completes a Year of Repeat Championship Victories

Rajeev Ram is giving the tennis world déjà vu with his back-to-back championship wins at the Nitto Finals and US Open.
The 39-year-old doubles veteran has been crushing the doubles game, winning two of the most prestigious tournaments of the year for the second and third time.
Alongside partner Joe Salisbury, Ram dominated the US Open doubles event this year for an unprecedented third consecutive time. Ram and Salisbury are the first doubles team in the open era to do so.
A few months later, Ram and Salisbury completed a perfect 5-0 run for the second year running at the season finale in Turin. They faced the best doubles teams in the world, including Solinco’s Rohan Bopanna, world No. 3, to earn their spot in the finals. In a straight set 6-3, 6-4 victory, Ram clinched the trophy against Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos.
Three of their five wins came via match tiebreaks, including a 7-6(5), 3-6, 10-7 semifinal result against the 5th seeds, Santiago Gonzalez and Edouard Roger-Vasselin.
Ram secured qualification to the ATP Finals due to his strong finish to the season, including a historic third consecutive US Open win, a title in Vienna, and a semifinal run at the Rolex Paris Masters. This impressive streak resulted in a 17-2 record since the start of the US Open.
As a result, Ram and Salisbury climbed to third place in the ATP doubles teams rankings. Ram is set to end the season at world No. 6, one place ahead of his teammate.
