The 81st edition of the USTA Boys National Hardcourts made its triumphant return to Kalamazoo, Michigan. Solinco returned as the official stringer and sponsor for its 11th year running!

Kalamazoo is synonymous with high-performance tennis, steeped in decades of tradition and tennis excellence. This year, 256 of the country’s top junior athletes competed for a chance to book their spot in the US Open main draw. Despite multiple rain delays, the tournament ran seamlessly thanks to the dedication of its officials and volunteers, many of whom have been a part of the event for 30+ years.

When the skies cleared, the courts came alive with high-performance tennis, showcasing the skills of the nation’s future Pros.

This year, Team Solinco’s Jack Kennedy (16) from Long Island, New York advanced to the finals after a stellar performance and tournament. In a gripping four-set final, Jack faced North Carolina’s Matt Forbes, ultimately falling in a hard-fought battle, 6-3, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5. Jack’s runner-up finish earns him a wild card into the US Open qualifiers, as well as a spot in the US Open junior bracket. Jack plays with the Solinco Whiteout 305 XTD racquet with Hyper-G.

OTHER HIGHLIGHTS

Arin Pallegar clinched a Silver Ball finish in the Boys 16s singles. In a marathon match lasting over three hours, Arin showcased his resilience and skill, pushing the No. 1 seed, Gus Grumet, to the brink before falling short 6-7(4), 6-2, 7-6(2). Arin’s runner-up finish secures his wild card entry into the ITF J300 in College Park and the qualifiers of a men’s $15,000 tournament. Arin trains at the JMG Academy in Sacramento and plays with Solinco Tour Bite string.

In the Boys 16s feed-in finals, Andrew Johnson defeated Ryan Cozad 6-1, 5-7, (10-3) to claim fifth place. Andrew plays with the Solinco Whiteout 305 racquet with Tour Bite Diamond Rough.
