Austin Krajicek is the ATP’s Newest World No. 1 Doubles Player

Only twenty American men have become world No. 1 in doubles. This year, Austin Krajicek added his name to the list.

The big-hitting lefty from Florida had a standout season, winning his first Grand Slam at Roland Garros and finishing 2023 as doubles world No. 1.

Krajicek, alongside partner Ivan Dodig, also lifted the trophy in Beijing, London/Queen’s Club, Roland Garros, Monte Carlo, and Rotterdam.

Winning Roland Garros this year was extra special for the Team Solinco athlete, as he narrowly missed the mark in 2022. Determined to succeed, Krajicek and Dodig accomplished their goal with a convincing 6-3, 6-1 victory over Vliegen/Gille.

Throughout the season, Krajicek consistently delivered solid performances, reaching the finals in Miami, Adelaide, and Eastbourne, with a notable semifinal showing at the US Open. He ends the season with an impressive 39-15 record.

Krajicek’s outstanding results propelled him to the top of the rankings, solidifying his and Dodig’s status as the World No. 1 doubles team.

“It’s an amazing feeling for sure,” Krajicek said in an interview with Tennis.com. “It really was a special year, the whole year.
