US Open Recap: Rajeev Ram’s Third Straight Doubles Win Sets a US Open Record. Bopanna, Zvonereva are US Open Finalists
Make it three for Rajeev Ram and partner Joe Salisbury! The pair completed a US Open hat-trick (2021, 2022, 2023) for the first time since 1912, solidifying their 3-year reign in the New York City Grand Slam! They are the first pair in the open era to achieve this. Read on for more Team Solinco updates.
Several week 2 matches saw an all-Solinco battle in their run to the final. On the cusp of his second major title this year, Austin Krajicek and partner Ivan Dodig met Ram / Salisbury in the semifinal but fell short of securing their spot in the championship.
In a highly-anticipated championship match, Rajeev Ram went head-to-head with Rohan Bopanna. Ram emerged victorious after a three-set thriller, with the final score 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. Bopanna’s exceptional sportsmanship shone through during the match when he graciously conceded a point to Ram / Salisbury, after a shot from his partner inadvertently grazed his arm. Such displays of sportsmanship are a testament to the values of fair play and respect that enrich the world of professional tennis.
Vera Zvonereva and partner Siegemund had a stellar performance fresh off of their Citi Open Championship win. The two achieved finalist status in their run to the final, narrowly missing their chance for US Open title #2.
Fresh off of his title in Winston-Salem, Nate Lammons with partner Galloway reached the quarterfinals meeting Rohan Bopanna in yet another Solinco head-to-head.
In every round, Team Solinco exhibited incredible displays of athleticism, talent, and grit, showing strides of progress with every result. Check out the best Team Solinco photos from the US Open below.
